His experience includes tank closure assessments, site investigations, work plan preparation, remedial action plans development, and supervision of remedial technologies for petroleum impacted sites; Phase 1 and Phase 2 environmental site assessments. His field experience includes supervising the subsurface investigations, soil and groundwater sampling/testing, inspection of underground storage tank system removals, and maintenance of soil/groundwater treatment systems. He has completed numerous Phase I, 2, 2.5, and 3 hazardous materials investigations per WisDOT FDM Procedures for several highway projects. Representative project experiences include:

Calhoun Road (Greenfield Road-Blue mound Road), Waukesha County:
Performed a Phase 1 hazardous materials assessment of approximately 1.3 miles of the project corridor. The Phase 1 identified four potential hazardous material sites that included an active gas station and three former LUST sites. In view of the construction/acquisition requirements and the potential to cause significant hazardous materials impacts to the proposed improvements, recommended and completed a Phase 2 investigation for the active gas station (Mobil Oil Station, 17235 W. Bluemound Road).

S. 3rd Street and Side Streets (Western Avenue to Main Street), Jefferson County:
Performed a geophysical investigation and Phase 1 hazardous materials assessment of approximately 0.35 miles of the project corridor. The Phase 1 identified twelve potential hazardous material sites that included present and former gas stations and former auto repair shops. In view of the construction/acquisition requirements and the potential to cause significant hazardous materials impacts to the proposed improvements, recommended and completed Phase 2 investigations for nine sites.

South Shore Park, 2900 South Shore Drive, Milwaukee County, WI
Conducted a limited environmental investigation of this boat launch facility to evaluate the environmental quality of the Lake Michigan sediments at this location. The project consisted of collecting sediment samples from below the lake bed at the base of boat launch, laboratory analysis to characterize the deposits for potential disposal/management purposes, and making recommendations for handling and managing the dredged excess beach sand and lake sediments per NR 347.
