Michelle has over nine years of consulting and environmental experience, which includes managing numerous environmental, geological/geotechnical, and hydrogeological investigations throughout Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, and Wisconsin. Related experience includes: Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, remedial investigations, compliance support, health and safety, spill planning, and drafting. Michelles supervisory field experience includes soil, sediment, and groundwater sampling, automated sewer sampling, drilling activities (utilizing Geoprobe technology, air rotary, and Rotosonic rigs), and excavation oversight. Listed below is representative project experience:
Tannery, Wisconsin:
Conducted a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment of a site which was utilized as a tannery, including an on-site wastewater treatment plant, since 1945. Prior to 1945, the site was utilized as a bulk oil storage facility, with several million gallons of bulk fuel stored on-site.
Paint and Varnish Company, Westland, Michigan:
Conducted a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment with Limited Compliance of a paint and varnish company specializing in coatings for plastics.
Gasoline Station, Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin:
Delineated on-site and off-site extents of impacted soil, groundwater and free product, and evaluated the potential for vapor intrusion (including sump sampling) at an adjacent office facility.
Gasoline Station, Glendale, Wisconsin:
Delineated on-site and off-site extents of impacted soil, groundwater and free product. Conducted groundwater sampling and free product recovery.
Farm Landfill, Grafton,Wisconsin:
Supervised bedrock drilling utilizing a Rotosonic drill rig for bedrock well nests (>150 feet) at a farm landfill. Additionally packer testing was conducted on the well nests and groundwater sampling was conducted to determine extent of impact horizontally and vertically.
Papermill, Wisconsin:
Supervised an excavation of caustic soda-impacted soils at a papermill facility. Field activities included in-field sampling of pH, air monitoring, and limited oversight of subcontractors. The excavation included vacuum-truck excavation inside a building to a depth of approximately 6 feet. Additionally, an Interim Action Report was completed for the site.
Dry Cleaning Facility, Wisconsin:
Supervised an excavation of tetrachloroethene-contaminated soils at a dry cleaning facility. Field activities included in-field sampling utilizing a mobile laboratory, air monitoring and oversight of subcontractors. The excavation included backfilling and oversight of a geotechnical survey post-excavation.
